Ely Cursillo #41
Bookings are now open for our next Cursillo weekend. You can find the application form and further information at the bottom of this page.
Cursillo is a weekend event during which Christians explore their faith in all its dimensions in a prayerful and supportive environment. The name comes from Spanish – a ‘short course’ – and is pronounced ‘kur-see-yo’ for this reason.
Cursillo is also a way of life, something that might begin months or years before someone’s attendance at the weekend and in which they may be involved for the rest of their life. It’s led jointly by lay and ordained Christians.
Participants – known as ‘pilgrims’ – are invited to attend the event by sponsors, who will provide prayerful support and guidance. (They don’t provide financial support – if meeting the cost of the weekend is a challenge, please see our Bursaries policy.) We also ask for your vicar/parish priest to be made aware of and to approve your attendance – this is so that we can be sure that this is the right time and the right thing for you.
If you’re interested in attending a Cursillo weekend but don’t know who might sponsor you, please contact us for advice (contact@elycursillo.co.uk).
Deadline for booking: 7 February 2027
